La Habra is a city of about 61,000 people situated in Orange County. Although it’s a fairly quiet city, it has all the amenities and services of a big city centre. Its central location provides easy access to the major city of Anaheim, which is only eight miles away. Beautiful sandy beaches and various mountain and desert recreational areas are only about an hour away.

A vibrant arts community is also on the rise in the city, and there are many parks, cultural attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas, such as La Habra Towne Center and Westridge Plaza.

Various festivals and events take place in La Habra, including the Tamale Festival, La Habra Citrus Festival, and La Habra Lion’s Corn Festival.

1. Enjoy Some Fresh Air in Vista del Valle Park

If you want to get away from the noise and crowds of the urban surroundings, Vista del Valle Park is a great place to relax for a while. This ten-acre park has plenty of green space so you’ll have no problem finding a spot in the sun or under a tree where you can read a book or people-watch.

The park also has a gazebo, benches, a playground, and a mile-long easy walking trail.

2. Learn about the City’s History at the La Habra Historical Museum

The La Habra Historical Museum is where visitors to the city can learn what it was like to live there between the 1890s and 1960s.

Besides artefacts and documents, the La Habra Old Settlers Historical Society Collection showcases many photos highlighting the history, culture, and people of La Habra. As you look through these photos, you’ll see images of old farmhouses, farming machinery, labourers, and pioneers.

3. Escape Into the Wonderful World of Disney

Nearby Anaheim is home to two of the more popular attractions in the area – Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park.

Between these two theme parks, there’s an abundance of attractions, including thrilling rides and interactive activities. Both parks feature entertainment throughout the day, and there are numerous dining establishments located around each one.

Disneyland Park is the larger park, home to the fabled Sleeping Beauty Castle. The attraction is divided into themed areas, such as Frontierland and Adventureland. Some of the notable rides include Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Throughout the year, the gallery also hosts various programs and events, including lectures, workshops, live demonstrations, and tours. The Art in Public Places Program has 163 sculptures around the city. There’s even a gift shop with souvenirs and art for sale.

7. Take the Kids to The Children’s Museum

At The Children’s Museum in La Habra, children are presented with a wide range of hands-on activities that will make their imagination run wild and help sharpen valuable skills – all while having a whale of a time, of course!

In total, there are seven galleries; within those galleries are many exhibits focusing on various topics, including art, science, math, and literature.

The Steam Lab, Nature Walk, Model Train Village, Kids on Stage, and the Science Station are just some of the exhibits. An outdoor dinosaur garden is also on-site, and children can ride on a carousel and dig for fossils.

8. Taste Unique Craft Beer at Bruery Terreux

For more than a decade, Bruery Terreux in Anaheim has been producing unique craft beer inspired by the farmhouse style of Belgium and France.

The brews are traditional, but modern techniques take them to a whole new level of taste that can be sampled in their interactive and roomy tasting room, which allows guests to see into the fermentation area.

There are more than 40 beers available on tap, and outdoor seating is available on the patio. Food trucks are usually parked outside.

9. Learn How to Ride a Horse at Yater Performance Riding

More than 60 sand bunkers, several water hazards and a ravine crossing are just some of the challenges you’ll meet along the way.

This 18-hole, par-72 course also features a driving range and golf pro shop. The Bar & Grill serves a variety of tasty meals and refreshing beverages.

Another interesting thing about this park is the historical attractions found on-site, including the 1938 mini railroad adventure and the carousel from the mid-1940s.

The ocean is not that far away from La Habra. If your adventures in the region include exploring the coastal areas, learning to scuba dive is always an unforgettable experience.

At Seas the Day Scuba in nearby Brea, experienced and certified instructors provide a variety of lessons for all levels, including beginners. You can also buy and rent equipment for your excursions.

Once you have the knowledge and are ready to go on your first dive, the shop offers day trips and diving tours to nearby areas.

The Brea Museum and Heritage Center, situated in the historic American Legion Hall, showcases the vibrant history of the region. On-site, there are more than 15,000 artefacts, including old photos and documents, across a number of exhibits.

As you explore the museum, you’ll see a skeleton of a sabre-toothed cat, oil derrick models and an old jail cell.
