Goodyear is a flourishing Arizonian city whose expansion really took off after 1990 with the development of lots of residential communities.
Estrella is currently the largest of these developments, offering an inviting lifestyle to young couples and families, right in the heart of nature.
Originally purchased as cotton growing land to produce tire cords for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company from where it got its name, Goodyear became a small town in 1946, and hasn’t stopped growing since.
It is now one of Phoenix’s fastest growing suburbs and is well know for entertainment in the West Valley.

1. Goodyear Community Park
With an excellent reputation across the whole of West Valley area, Goodyear Community Park is arguably one the best parks in Arizona.
It consists of a range of courts and playing fields including sand volleyball courts which can be reserved, BBQ spots, playgrounds, a skate park, a dog park and more.
A popular attraction of the park which is open from April to October is the splash pad, where kids can have fun and cool off in the water throughout the summer months, so don’t forget swimsuits.
2. Estrella Star Tower
Just along the Estrella Parkway, followed by a little wander down a scenic path, you’ll find the Estrella Star Tower.
With a gorgeous spiral design that mimics the milky way, designed with colours and materials that match its surroundings, the tower offers stunning views by day and night of the landscape and the stars.
The 50ft tower has a river and waterfall nearby adding to the idealistic peacefulness of the location.
For the prettiest display it’s best to come and enjoy a sunset, and in doing so you will get to experience both day and night at the tower.
3. Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater
You couldn’t ask for a more picturesque location to watch theatre performances and live bands, with the amphitheater’s stunning backdrop of the lake and mountains just behind.
The venue has become home to Goodyear’s annual Lakeside Music Festival in spring, presenting fresh artists from the area in collaboration with West Valley Arts Council.
Ballet Under The Stars has also become a regular event at Lakeside Amphitheater to welcome in the autumn, performed by Ballet Arizona. The ballet is free to attend and brings with it other entertainment to indulge in pre-performance.

4. Goodyear Ballpark
The Ballpark at Goodyear offers another interesting venue for events, but many come to see the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds baseball teams during spring training season.
Over Halloween, the ballpark is taken over by costumed children and fairground rides as the Fall Festival ensues.
In November it hosts the Veterans Day Tribute event where you can plant your flags, view the flyover tribute and observe the military displays.
Throughout the year it also hosts many other events such as car shows, festive events and more.
5. Arizona Challenger Space Center
For many years the Arizona Challenger Space Center has been located in Peoria, however in October 2017 it had to relocate.
Due to lack of space, many of the exhibits have not yet been moved to its temporary location in Phoenix Metrocenter Mall.
The centre is currently focusing on its compelling outreach programs instead, where students are challenged to solve space design issues.
The science museum will be back in full operation and offering its full range of visits and events again shortly when it moves to its new permanent location, which will remain within Phoenix.
Once in it’s new home, the museum is expected to expand, so it will be a better time to visit than ever before.
6. The Bible Museum
Whether you’re interested in the bible, like to learn about other religions, or just like old books, the Bible Museum is a great stop to observe some history.
Attached to a hotel, you can gain access at any time of day, however for the opportunity to speak to someone and learn more, operational hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
You can also book group visits of at least 8 people for a history packed tour.
The museum’s collection is extensive and varied with certain items available for purchase.
7. Estrella Foothills Community Park & Pump Track
Glide between humps, bowls and mounds off dirt as you loop around Goodyear’s Pump Track at Estrella Foothills Community Park.
Built by volunteers and opened in 2015, the track is designed to utilise gravity for endless fun on your bike with minimal pedalling.
With three different courses to suit different experience levels, all visitors are welcome to let loose on the track, assuming they comply with track rules.
8. Corral West Adventures
Presenting a variety of unique and fun ways to explore the Sonoran Desert, Corral West Adventures encourages the exploration of natural public lands through the use of horses.
Perfect for entertaining the children, a romantic sunset ride with your partner, or even getting family and friends together, there are lots of events to choose from to create your perfect adventure.
Take the opportunity to explore various trails with a guide on horseback, learn how to care for horses, or attend a cowboy cookout around campfire. There’s plenty of options to suit all tastes.
9. Mountain Ranch Marketplace
Having received a Gold Certification for sustainability from LEED, the attractively designed Mountain Ranch Marketplace opened its first store in 2010.
The modern yet homely shopping and dining complex serves as the primary retail centre to the master planned community of Estrella, and will see plenty of expansion over the coming years.
Already housing many big names, Mountain Ranch Marketplace is set to become a hub for both the community of Estrella, and Phoenix.
10. Elevate Trampoline Park
For the most epic fun with the kids or a group of friends, Elevate Trampoline Park will have you bouncing off the walls with its trampoline based attractions.
From basketball hoops, to ninja courses, rock climbing, foam pits and so much more, there’s bounds of fun to be had by all.

12. Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park
Home to Arizona’s largest collection of exotic animals, Wildlife World in Litchfield Park is an accredited zoo offering fun days out alongside education as well as special group events.
The zoo specialises in African animals but has much more to offer. And if that isn’t enough to keep the kids occupied, there’s also several rides to boost the experience.

13. South Lake Park
This tranquil park situated on the shore of South Lake makes for a peaceful, scenic stroll, especially at sunset.
You can walk or jog the perimeter of the lake which interconnects with paths leading to North Lake.
