4. The Micco Scrub Sanctuary
Stretched over 1,322 acres of land, the Micco Scrub Sanctuary is a protected area that is filled with flatwood and mesic flatwood scrub.
This terrain is unique to the area and as a result visitors here will have the chance to witness a plethora of local flora and fauna that are rarely found in other areas of the United States.
There are trails that run all over the sanctuary and if you like hiking then this is an ideal place to spend an afternoon.
As well as hiking, you can also enjoy biking or horseback riding if you want to take in the views from on high.
There are also several observation points around the sanctuary where you can bird and animal watch.
